Arlette's Origin Story

"Hi friends! Today, we’re going on an adventure to learn about a real-life hero — Arlette Amuli!

She’s a smart, brave, and kind young woman from a country in Africa called the Democratic Republic of Congo — or D.R. Congo for short!"

"Arlette grew up in a country that’s full of beautiful people, music, and nature — but also some big challenges, like unfair rules for girls."

"She worked hard in school because she loved learning. She wanted to help others and stand up for what’s right!"

"When Arlette got older, she became a youth leader — that means she helps other kids and teens have a voice! She talks to leaders and says,

'We deserve safety, school, and a better future!'"

"Arlette cares a LOT about people. She speaks up for girls' rights, which means she wants every girl to be treated with kindness, go to school, and feel safe — just like boys!"

"She also helps young people feel strong and brave, even if life is hard sometimes."

"People around the world noticed how awesome she is. So she was chosen as a Youth Leader for the Women Deliver Conference — a big meeting where people talk about how to make the world better, especially for girls and women!"

"She told the world:

'We need more love, more learning, and more listening to young people!'

And guess what? Grown-ups listened!"

"So what can we learn from Arlette Amuli?"

Be brave

Help others

Stand up for what’s right

And believe that kids can change the world!"

"Arlette may not wear a cape, but she’s a real superhero — just like you can be!"
